Funny Driving Laws Part Three
Driving laws are often great for protecting us when we are navigating the roads, but there are some that are ludicrous, and others that are just downright mental. Here is a list of some of the weird and wonderful driving laws you might come across when driving out of the UK.
In Texas it is illegal to drive when under the influence, which is pretty standard across the world. but in this state of America, it is also illegal to drive when in an arms length of alcohol, including a passenger who might have been drinking.
In Virginia you must wear shoes when you are driving. In Tennessee you cannot drive when you are asleep, under pain of a fine, and in Ohio you are requested to honk your horn when you pass any other car.
In New Jersey it is against the law to frown at a police officer, not to mention the fact that you cannot pump your own gas. All petrol stations are run by staff who will help you out.
In Montana it is illegal to drive with a sheep in the front of a truck unless you are being chaperoned at the time. In oxford, Mississippi, it is illegal to drive around the town square more than one hundred times in one go, or risk spending the night in a cell.
In Minneapolis, Minnesota, it is illegal for a person with a red car to drive down the central street. In Maryland, swearing from a vehicle is seen to be a misdemeanour, and in Rhode island you cannot drive a car if you have beer in it, regardless of if it is open or not. So if you want to purchase beer at the shop then you have to walk.
In West Virginia it is perfectly legal to take any road kill home for dinner, and in Eureka in California it is illegal to use the road as a bed. California law also prohibits you from jumping from a car going faster than sixty five miles per hour, and in Hermosa beach you can't spit your margherita on the floor when driving.
If you are driving in the UK then make sure that you have Car Insurance.
